In late 2017 and early 2018 we undertook a renovation of an inner city gym complex, Fitness Playground in Newtown/Erskineville The four level gym was undergoing a complete facelift. We were contracted to perform various renovations. Some of these included, the demolition of all walls, windows, floors and bathrooms. We moved interior walls, making better use of the studio space available. We installed a product called Barestone produced by CSR on the walls of the upper floor, the Barestone gave the feature look of raw concrete in each corner of the panels an M20 black bolt was installed to provide the facade of the concrete being bolted to the wall. We used a yellow Stratco Steel to build a large sliding door to replicate a shipping container. Tasmanian Oak Half Dowels were used on the yoga studio wall to create a warm feature. New walls were erected to provide continuous room length mirrors. Brackets and dowels were placed around the room for stretching, all the walls were insulated with a sound proof barrier insulation to minimise noise levels between studios. A new feature light box was built in the boxing studio, using an alucobond material. These are just a few examples of the works carried out on this project.
